We learned about Patriot Villas from friends — Angela and Ed — we met during our travels. Every week, they serve the veterans living in this converted motel by taking them food from their food truck. That is the kind of community that shows up.
When we couldn't be there in person, Angela and Ed delivered our sheets to Patriot Villas for us.
Patriot Villas serves veterans through 74 studio apartments in a converted motel in Charleston. These are men and women who served their country — and found themselves without stable housing on the other side.
This story is a reminder that the network of people who care about this mission extends far beyond The Linen Closet. Friends carry packages when we can't. Strangers buy sheets in Home Goods. Communities step up in ways that keep surprising us.
