Open House Ministries has a wonderful program to help women transition to life after incarceration. This summer, The Linen Closet provided beautiful new bedding for their program.
Pictured here is the case manager who prepared the bed for a grandmother coming out of prison. In addition to sheets, we included our signature "You Are Loved" card.
There is something quietly profound about a bed made up and waiting. It says: this room is yours. You are expected. You are welcome.
For a woman who has been incarcerated — who has spent years sleeping in an institutional setting — a bed with fresh new linens is more than comfort. It is a statement about her worth and her future.
