House of Refuge — Mesa, Arizona

House of Refuge is the latest transitional shelter we support — and it is unlike anything else in our network.

Since 1995, House of Refuge has been situated on the decommissioned Williams Air Force Base in Mesa, Arizona. On that campus, 88 two-bedroom homes for homeless families have been transformed into a genuine neighborhood setting — not a shelter in the traditional sense, but a community where families can stabilize and begin to rebuild.

Jasmine, Regina, and Tom ensured your donations reached families there this winter.

There is something fitting about a place once built for defense becoming a place of refuge. The families who live there are not statistics. They are neighbors. And the new linens they receive are one small piece of what makes that neighborhood feel like home.

We are grateful to add House of Refuge to our growing family of partner organizations.
