The past four months have brought a flurry of activity — and so much to be thankful for. You encourage, support, show up, invite, promote, pray, plan, advise, and donate. Thank you for being on this team to deliver comfort, hope, and dignity.
Recently, one of our donors told us about a big sale at Macy's. The deals were great — we needed a cart for all the sheets we wanted to buy. My mom asked an employee if he could help us find one. Off he went.
After 15 minutes I said, a bit annoyed, "He isn't coming back." My mom was confident: "Oh yes, he'll be back and I'm waiting." Sure enough, Ryan came from the distance with an industrial-sized trolley.
We told Ryan we were buying sheets for transitional shelters and he said, "Wow! And I didn't even know I was doing a good thing!"
Later, a sign over their heads in the photograph caught my attention. It reads: Give. Love. Believe.
"Give, and it will be given unto you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap." — Luke 6:38
