Central Park Place — Vancouver, Washington

Amanda (Director) and Nikolas (Case Worker) do the incredible work of supporting approximately 150 individuals at Central Park Place on the veteran's campus in Vancouver, WA.

This transitional housing facility supports primarily older veterans who have experienced long-term homelessness, long-term health issues, and mental health challenges. Most people here live on about $200 to $300 a month after paying for their room.

Amanda and Nikolas advocate fiercely for the needs of the residents — and often try to find food for them, because sometimes people haven't eaten for three days.

Most residents here experience anxiety, and the Covid lockdown was especially hard on them. An upcoming renovation of the building interior will give residents a welcome upgrade. We are so thankful for the work of Amanda and Nikolas.

Residents at Central Park Place greeting the Linen Closet delivery team

Several residents came out to greet us while we were delivering 16 new twin bedding bundles — sheets, comforters, and pillows. They were so pleased and excited to choose from a wide selection of lovely bedding you all donated. We are working to provide love and comfort to all the residents through the gift of new bed linens.

We are also excited to announce that The Linen Closet is now an official mission of Columbia Presbyterian Church — one of seventeen missions they support through prayer, gifts, and engagement.
