A Desperately Needed Addition — Bertha's Too for Women 55 and Older

Bertha's Too — Vancouver, Washington

Samantha Forrester is the Director of Bertha's Too, a newly opened transitional shelter for women who are 55 or older. Bertha's Too has 32 beds — and through your gifts, we were able to provide all new twin sheets for every single one.

This shelter is a desperately needed addition to the Vancouver, Washington community.

Samantha is also the Director of Bertha's Place, a nearby transitional shelter run out of a former Howard Johnson's hotel. Between these two facilities, she is working to ensure that older women in crisis have somewhere dignified to land.

Older women experiencing homelessness are often invisible in conversations about housing. Bertha's Too makes them visible — and provides a space that is specifically theirs.

We are grateful to support this important work. If you know of other organizations like this one that could benefit from The Linen Closet's mission, reach out.
